Upperbody Mummification seems to be doing good work. A good day for rock n’ roll.
That was close: my cat (not really my cat, as I don’t feed it or know its real name but it sleeps here these days) seems to have picked up on my new feeble state and now sees me as an easy target. Upgraded have been underbed expeditions for dustbunnies, increased wastebasket excavations, and her newest trick: if you push on the green button on the scanner/printer, it makes a noise and paper comes out. Also in high demand is dumping coughdrops from the shelf onto the floor, and kicking them about the room with paw.
She’s a pretty kitty alright, like a pitch black otter, a cute little harbinger of death and meow.
Here’s a great segment from Disney’s 1946 “Make Mine Music”: All the Cats Join in. It’s fabulous.
The background is very minimal. It’s drawn in place as the characters need it. This piece is very much about how the characters convey the excitement of the music, some hot Benny Goodman jazz. The enthusiasm of these kids is positively contagious, as they rear back and fling themselves from point A and go skidding and scrambling while overshooting point b every time. And great non-rotoscoped dancing. I dig it.
Cats dig kiwi branches. It seems to have an effect on them not unlike, but milder, than catnip. They really like it. There is a small orchard of Kiwi plants here, which were all pruned today. Here’s Cajou going to town.
Means “little socks”, just like her little white paws
Shere Khan
Justin
Sounds like a 10-year-old boy picked the name (which is, in fact, what happened)

Thought she was a tom

I noticed an older post on Bangazee, a blog about kids’ animation authored by Gred MCleod of the most awesome Brothers MCleod:
Yesterday I went on a Masterclass with Frank Gladstone at Aardman. He’s worked for Disney and Dreamworks and the like and one of the things he showed us was this cartoon, which is beautifully drawn, structured and has the most excellent timing. The dog’s name is also fantastic… Mark Anthony. Who calls their dog Mark Anthony? Brilliant!
I think this has always been one of my favorites since early childhood, but besides that it’s a great cartoon in almost every way.
I am in the process of getting some of those old designs on shirts in my spare time.
I’ve got a rabbit lover’s theme, a cat lover’s theme, and I should find those old drummer-themed t-shirt designs to upload too — those were the only one that ever sold on Cafepress.
I am dealing with Zazzle nowadays, partly because they have fun bells and whistles like the flashy thing below, but mainly because they have something cafepress should have thought of doing from the start; having a networking/community. Web 1.0, meet Web 2.0.
